My new registration for the new boat should be here any day. Anyone have any tricks for removing the old stickers so I can add the new ones?? I was thinking a hairdryer and some wd40(Not at the same time :) )

Like Dan, my standard answer to removing old stickers is a heat gun. A hair dryer or blow dryer on high should be just about as good. Heat also works on price stickers on stuff you bring home from the store, old bumper stickers, etc. After peeling off the sticker with heat, rubbing the area with a paper towel wet down with Goo Gone will remove the last of any left-over adhesive.

work2fish...................I really cant thank you enough, I just spent 2 hours last saturday taking off the 05 state park pass from my windshield. And at the same moment reluctant to put on the 07. I am driving to ace hardware or advanced autoparts to buy one. TYhank you!

I have been using this exact method for years and it takes no more that 4-5 minutes per sticker.   Hardest part is sneaking the wife's blow drier out of the house.  The Goo Gone does not remove any of the boat's
finish.

You may want to check these out before putting on your next sticker:

while this is cool and could be used for legal purposes, transfering registrations and permits from one to another is not and if you tried this with a sticker that is exposed outside like a boat sticker anyone could take it

What I use to strip old stickers off is something every fisherman, hunter, & camper has with them at all times. It's Deep Woods Off ! Just spray it on and it starts to bubble it right away then just peel off with a blade. Its cheap and you always have it with you.I found out about it a couple years ago, I took my new wife fishing and the bugs started to eat her alive so I had her spray herself down. Within minutes it started to strip her fingernail polish off,  , I tried it on my boat stickers and it worked. I even use it to clean the algae green off my fiberglass boat.

some of that deet stuff you gotta watch out for, i had it on my hands once and it started melting the reel handles on my sedona. just imagine what else you might be able to use this stuff for.(battery acid, nuculear bombs)
It will also take the paint off your car. I watched an adult drape a Boy Scout over the front of his station wagon and spray his back with OFF mosquito repellent. The next morning there was a perfect outline of the kid on the hood of the car, silhouetted in destroyed paint. :D
