they do catch walleyes. i caught one when i was using the rig, i also caught a wiper. then i quit using them. i always wondered if you put one behind a set of pop gear and trolled for trout, would you catch any or would all the trout go to the other end of the lake
Agree Byron, I too have trolled u-rigs, picked mine up in NM (E-butte) but I was looking for more info on Bensons claim.
In the Jan-Feb 2012 FLW Walleye issue. I found the article in there last month. I vaguely remember reading it. But I know its there.

I dont care one way or another. I wouldn't have used the rig in a tournament anyway.

I dont think you should be allowed what amounts to a Christmas tree with a bunch of lures hanging off to catch fish...you cant troll in a bass tournament anyway can you?...so you would have to cast that mess?
