I just read that BASS banned the rigs in practice and tourneys. Also banned are double jerkbait rigs, dropper rigs, and any other rig involving more than one lure. Thoughts?
Ditto. I can't imagine heaving that thing all day. Life's too short...Slimer said:Really have no opinion as it doesn't effect me one bit.
With 5 hooks, knock it down to 3 hooks, you're golden.mogul buster said:This thread will hold more interest for those who follow pro bass fishing. I think its a good rule change...one lure per rod...one rod at a time. This keeps the field level and more simplified.
Keep in mind that no matter what BASS does...the alabama rig is illegal in Colorado and many other states.
Say what you will.. .tournament fishing, whether professional, amature, or weekend warrior, improves your fishing skills immensely. Nothing elevated my skills more than fishing tournaments, and while they do not define who I am as a fisherman, they have helped me make huge strides as an angler, rather than slowly picking up this and that.Shaun Solomon said:As with any arbitrary rule, I think it sucks. 8) No bait, no trolling, no longer than eight foot rods... it kills creativity and out of the box thinking. Walleye guys can HAND LINE in their contests...
Screw B.A.S.S. for the record. God I hate tournaments. Not so much because of actual tournament anglers, but because of the legions of hacks and wannabe's that iron patches onto their shirts and tell you that they "fish tournaments" pronounced Torn-aments. If you don't have to qualify, it is not a Torn-ament, it is a derby.
But yeah, whatever. Who gives a chit?
You just made enemy's with half this site dude, you better watch your back nowShaun Solomon said:As with any arbitrary rule, I think it sucks. 8) No bait, no trolling, no longer than eight foot rods... it kills creativity and out of the box thinking. Walleye guys can HAND LINE in their contests...

they do catch walleyes. i caught one when i was using the rig, i also caught a wiper. then i quit using them. i always wondered if you put one behind a set of pop gear and trolled for trout, would you catch any or would all the trout go to the other end of the lake
