Yesterday was a milestone for me.  I cought my first big Striper on a fly (not a whiper a STRIPER)!!! My buddy and I estimated it at 18 pounds.  They are def. in the spawn mode here in TN. WE also picked up a few whiper in the mix.  I'll post the pics when I get them.

Re: 18 POUND STRIPER

How many inches was it... There pretty true to form if you want to know exactly what is weighted... An 18lb striper is around 35inch on avg... Congrats by the way  ;D... there is nothing as fun as striper on the fly rod

Re: 18 POUND STRIPER

Aight here it is!!!  What a rush stripers are.  This fish took me from fly line to backing before I even knew what happened.  Whent out again today and didnt hook any rock fish but landed a few hybrids.  Life is looking good for me, I have about 3 more weeks of prime striper fishing here in TN before the water gets to warm and then Im back home to CO in May when the hybrid fishing will just be peaking!  And yes VolFan it was Percy Priest.
