Got off work at 2:30 AM last night/this morning. F*** sleep.

Grabbed my ultralight and a few rubber worms and headed to the lake. I didnt have any crawlers, and no place in this town is open after dark (crazy) so I had to use rubber worms. Hoping for cats (again) but caught 6 bass, ranging in size from 11" to 18.5". Fished 'til the sun started to gray the sky.

Hooked up probably 15 times, missed most. Slow retrieve with short jerks and pauses was the ticket. Most of them would take the worm during the pause, and I wouldn't realize they were there until I started the retrieve again... then it felt like I was hooked on a rock or log.

All released.

I'm gearing up now to head out to Center Hill lake... Large reservoir with excellent populations of crappie, SMB, channel cat and flathead. Lots of forage fish too, so hopefully I can catch some gills for bait while I'm there.

I live 25 minutes from the nearest WalMart. Boondocks, son... ;)

Getting ready to head out to my favorite spot... Night fishing again. Wish I had glow bobbers, but I'll tape a glow stick to my stick bobber and see if it stays.

Yea, they seem to be skinny out of that lake. They are plentiful, but thin.

Don't really know why, but all the bass I caught were long and skinny.
