Saw a FB post where somebody was saying he loved his "more efficient" 3 blade trolling motor prop. Guess I'm always looking for a better mousetrap. Anybody ever heard of this upgrade?

Never heard about it. Try it and let us know how well it performs. ;D My 80 lbs thrust MotorGuide is a little underpowered. It only pushes my boat to 2.2 mph at full speed. I could go 2.5 mph on previous setups, but they were smaller boats. $36 ain't bad, if it performs as advertised.

I have ran both 3 blade and 2 blade on my Motor Guide.

My motor guide shaft is possibly a little short and I believe that the 3 blade prop would cavitate a little less on big wave days.

Couldn't tell you about speed or power difference, I know the new XI 5 came with a 2 blade prop but my spare that I bought is 3 blades.

I must have been on beer binge. My xi 5 came with a 3 blade prop. Sorry for any confusion.
