I was doing some quick walleye fishing after school. Didn't get any walleye but I got one nice surprise. He measured 24 and went just over 6lbs on my buddy's spring scale. I have an electronic scale that someone form the forum gave me (thanks again) but I haven't purchased a battery for it yet. He hit a blue herring suspending rattling rogue and broke one of the trebles in half. I almost lost him. I couldn't be less upset about not getting any eyeballs...

My favorite species of trout!

I also would have guessed it bigger than 22" Well done!
Sorry guys that was a typo. He measured 24.

He wouldn't swim away so I ended up keeping him. I tried to revive him for quite a while. I was bummed cuz I usually never keep fish but well see how he tastes.

Haha! Whomp sent me a text yesterday in the afternoon asking me how to handle walleye that would be kept. Little did he or I know at the time that the tips I gave him would become useful that night. Didn't get the eyes but the trout died on him, unfortunately. Timely advice...

BTW, nice tape, Whomp! :biggrin1:

Thanks, guys. I'll be back out tonight. Hopefully I can get some eyes. It sounded like some trout were getting obliterated by walleye last night on the surface. It didn't sound like splashing but more like a giant "gulp." Maybe I'll bring my topwater sbs.
