Does anyone have any experience with an Orvis Rocky Mountain Rod? I rediscovered a rod that I gave to my son years ago. I purchased it as a demo/loaner from a local shop back in the mid 80's. It is an 8.5 foot 5 weight. This is before the "tip flex", "mid flex", or "full flex" labels. Any idea on the type of flex? I need to get it out on the lawn for a cast or two, but the weather is not cooperating. I want to use it as a back up, but it needs line. I would like to over or under line it for different situations. Thanks, Jerry

I had a 9' 6# that i recently sold. I would consider it a full flex rod. The word slow comes to mind. It's the old superfine blank with lower end hardware.

I have an old Rocky Mountain 7'9" 5 wt. that was my 1st rod 14 years ago. It's a great rod for beginners because it is a slow action that is very forgiving. Also a good rod for throwing small dries up to 40 ft. I concur w/ jshin, definitely a full flex rod.
