The 7lb. 3 oz. new state record smallie that was just caught earlier this week on Ute Lake was caught on a white Bandit 300 series crank. After the fish was weighed on certified scales and witnessed by two NM wildlife officers, the guy who caught it put it back in his livewell and gave it a boat ride-releasing it in the spot where he caught it.

A real class act and wish I were down there to shake his hand. They are still on pre-spawn down there so that fish will recover and pass her genes along to another generation of smallmouth. A great ending to a great story.

Hey ePic-if you could post the picture here again, that would be great.
