I was checking Denver weather when I saw this article

Colorado Weather Station Hits -51°F, Ties One Of Coldest Temperatures Ever Recorded

NOTE -
CPW: Antero Reservoir is closed to all public use. Antero Reservoir was drained by Denver Water in 2015 to repair the dam. The anticipated reopening of Antero Reservoir is in 2017.

Just thought I'd share, I was shocked to see the temp that cold.

Too bad no water, I love fishing that place. :(
Sure gets drained a lot for dam repairs. I dont think the state hiring person has been checking references from the previous companys that fixed the dam.

Must be the same outfit that fixes the roads every other year:eek::eek:
Sure glad that I fished 11 mile that day!
Screw that. Dont need to catch a fish that bad!
I have fished at -24 the high was 9 Don't think I would get out of the truck for that temp
Fished -25 once and thought it was crazy, I can't imagine -51 that's cold!
I fished -39 at Antero a bit back. Was ridic. Eyes freezing shut and ****.
Ive done -33 at the mile and -27 several times at Granby. No huts. It was basically just a survival course.
Did -40 plus at Granby years back lasted maybe 30 minutes. Last really cold I fished in was WF -10 all day and still havent warmed up.
You guys are hardcore! I think the coldest I have seen was -18 at Granby a couple of years ago.

Was there and not worth it
Screw that lake
Not icing, but my worst was -27 and it "warmed up" to -15. Very much not worth. Never, never again.

Worst part about fishing in the cold is catching fish and gettin the hands wet, F THAT!
I wish for Pro Releases when its cold out unless it is a PB.

Coldest I have ever been in was late 90's when Maybell hit 63 below zero. I think Craig was -56ish. Was not fishing and would have not thought about going.

Coldest I started to fish in was -9, but i wussed out for about an hour til the sun came over the hill. I walked up and down the road to try to stay warm.
Same day different temperature.

We did make it into the 50's for 3 hours. 86 on July 25th, forecast high for Christmas, 86.

Merry Christmas.
