don't waste your time from shore unless you want to catch a trout or two if you are lucky. If you have a boat then you might get into some walleye by the dam and a few wiper.

We were there a few weeks ago. Unfortunately we were there in the afternoon and it was HOT! Not fishing, but temp. I saw fish on the finder along the bouy area but nothing was biting. I was already pretty sunburned from fishing at Jackson in the morning so we decided to go home before hitting the dam area.

That had been my only trip to Barr, but I'd expect pretty decent fishing action early in the morning or early in the evening. I also concur with the suggestion of fishing from a boat. The lake is pretty full and the fishing from shore options looked limited.
