Heading to Mobridge, SD for Jen's family reunion and the NWT event is going on at the same time. I was hoping to maybe try out some boats from manufacturer reps if they are there. Does anybody know if that is possible?

Never been to a weigh in. I'm going to try to catch one of them I hope.

BTW, ill take any fishing tips for up there as well. :)

i have fished some NWT tournys and never seen any reps in attendance. i think you will see several teams with boats that have ad's on them and the only rep will be the owner of the boat and the only time you might get a short ride would be before the tourny as they are not allowed on the water any time that they are not fishing the tourny till it is after the final weigh in. after the final day will your best bet to talk to the guys and get a tip or two. i know a lot of the teams won't hang around long after the last weigh in if they aren't in the top teams, i just let them send me the money

So I did wind up on a Tourney Boat. Jeff Mistelski owns Jeff's Outboards in Bismarck. He's Jen's cousin. Met him after the 1st day of the tourney and was talking boats and motors with him. He has a Yarcraft 209 with a 300 xl Verado Pro and he gave me the grand tour. Awesome boat. He was in 60th place after day one so I rubbed my butt all over his transom and said "here's some colorado big eye luck." The next day he and his co-angler bagged a 27" er and he and his partner wound up 5th. His cut was 11 grand.
He took Jen and I for a ride and a little fishing the next day. Holy [email protected]&k is that boat FAST!!!!! I dubbed his boat "The Orange Rocket." We hit 62 in 1.5' chop. Insane. He said all the Rangers in the tourney were in a single file line and he just whizzed past them. He said after the tourney the pros were asking him if he tweaked the motor and he said nope just stock. Helluva motor, helluva boat. Jeff is such a good dude too. Plus we picked up 5 eyes in about 2 hrs of fishing long lining flicker shads. I got to drive it for a bit too. I could hear the motor calling me a wuss, so I'd speed up, get scared and slow down. Funny. Awesome time.
