How many of us hop on our favorite tackle site and go directly to the product page? I know I do, I skip home pages, and most anything else that is not directly what I am after. Well, yesterday I clicked on the wrong link on TW and stumbled across a 10% sale for almost the entire site ! I never would have seen it without making a bad click. I know of several other sites where there are some hidden gems, like x-raps and hj's for under $5 and not just the small ones.

Basstackledepot for 15% too (TW will match) ...I just dropped a huge order with TW....about 50 items lol
I haven't done much online shopping myself - just Basspro, Dick's, Wally world, etc in town

Are there much better deals online? Any recommendations on websites?

I live in p-town. No good stores like dicks there....so I order online exclusively. TW pretty much exclusively actually. I like to not pay shipping EVER.

We have ONE locally owned sporting good store in town here, and I get free gear from them but they have very limited choices. the 2 chain stores in town are so-so, at least with one of them I can order online and it gets shipped in here for free, but again, limited options for obscure techniques ;D

I have been bit hard by the swim bait bug!! No place local to get rods, reels, hell I can't even find decent line over #25 so I order it online. I placed a PHAT order with TW yesterday

I can pick up brand new fly lines for $7, etc.
Do tell sir!!! You know me, the cheaper the fly line the bigger the fish! I havent found the really cheap stuff since Orvis quit selling its Green Mountain line at Wally World

here is what i use when over seas, granted almost all fly fishing:

i click on specials on the right and then browse around:

http://www.wyomingflyfishing.com/

for here click clearance, not 100% fly fishing, but more geared towards it:

http://www.mrfc.com/MadisonRiverMontanaFishing/Default.aspx

more fly fishing:

http://www.albrightflyfish.com/closeout.html

decent deals here, and their stuff changes pretty regularly:

http://www.flyshopcloseouts.com/

this site is not geared towards fishing per say, but 100% outdoors related, some awesome deals for sure, the deal changes every 25 minutes or so:
