Fish seem a little more wary to come to the big dry fly...but when they do take they mean to eat.

Love the crisp air, the rut is about to start and I am loving everyday I can spend in the field.

Pretty tough livin.

Momma on the rock!

Next stop, Henry's Fork for the Eclipse!

Very nice.

August doldrums. Sure looks it. LOL

Speaking of rut...11 days to season! I can already feel the 0330 wake ups, aches in the legs, sore pack shoulders, and hours spent in a stand nodding off and on; woken by the snap of a twig or rustle in the ferns.....A squirrel runs chattering and using my leg as a ramp. Obnoxious little beasts.....The breathing exercise of catching my breath after a 200 yard up mountain sprint at 10,000'.... The one season I forget about fish and seek out a more elusive prey. Dang...Now I need to go out back and shoot the bow again. Got my blood running!

How was the viewing of the eclipse from Henry's Fork? Better yet, how was the fishing? Last time I fished there was in 2010. I'll be fishing it next summer as we head up to Columbia Falls.
