I went out this for half the day and caught a few fish.  In all it was kinda slow but still no skunk.  I caught a total of 3 walleye and 4 good trout before I rowed back to the marina.  I stopped at the marina cove before I left and figured out that they must have recently stocked the lake because I caught a ton of small trout on almost every cast.  Guess they want to give everyone a chance to catch something this Sat. I am hoping the full moon coming up will get the fish back into the feeding mode that they were in a couple weeks ago. Here is a pic of the fish that found a new home.

Are you seeing any bass over on that side of the lake yet? I am kind of worried at the lack of smallies I have seen at the dam this spring ??? I haven't even caught one yet!

Yeah my friend and I have found a few smallies but haven't been able to put much of a pattern on them yet. I'm also looking forward to the wiper bite that should start soon.

My brother and I fished for a few hours caught over 30 trout off the dock. I talked to the Ranger and Aurora stocked 4000 pounds of trout on Monday. All the trout are little dinkers. It was so ridiculous that whenever we hook up with a trout 10- 20 small trout would follow. Many of the trout we were catching were no bigger than my hand. I think the biggest trout was probably at least 1lb.


I did catch a nice 16 inch smallmouth using a minnow. Overall it was a fun few hours. I wish I would have caught some bigger fish.

Now is the time to use a Castaic swim bait similar to the size of the stockers in marina cove. You just might
hook into some Wipage.

caught a 6lb wiper tuesday under the rangers boat 7in rainbow pattern jerk bait and the same little trout stockers. Colorado fishin trys your patience here what we will do for stocked crap!
