NOT GOOD !!! Nice turn out, not over whelming. We had one big one on next to the boat and got tangled in the anchor rope, got off ! From what I heard, only 1 tagged fish caught of 200. We saw others with 1 or 2 fish, otherwise most people skunked ! Spoke with 2 other guys, veterans of Aurora and they stated, "we have been out several times in the last month, limited out everytime and today we got skunked." Water temp only 51 to 52 degree's. We fished with everything in the boat. I think the people that did catch anything were pulling cranks ! The weather great for the most part, wind came up at times and the rangers had to pull a few boats in. We used 2 batteries. We be back next year.

Here are the results !

OH! AND I FORGOT THE SAME RANGER WHOM I TALKED WITH FOR AN HOUR ON SUNDAY CHECKED MY LICENCE FOR THE SECOND TIME IN 3 HRS" IN THE SAME TRUCK AND BOAT? WHAT IS UP COLORADO?

Eh'....gotta love those Aurora Rangers...I've had that happen at Quincy a time or two...its like they have short memory loss ::)
Seems like there are a lot of rangers for a lake that doesn't get much pressure. It also seems like they have an attitude of "why are you fishing on my lake"
jrfish,
so what you are saying is that we will never see you out there again?
Recently, My experience with rangers has been very positive at Aurora & Quincy.
Yakatut, you are one in a million.
Aurora and Quincy are both local lakes for me and I spend a good amount of time at Aurora and some at Quincy. I personally think that the Rangers do a great job (that's right they do there job) in policing the lakes. Isn't that why our tax dollars pay there wages, to keep the lakes worth going to? I say keep up the GREAT job.

IT WAS JUST THAT ONE INCIDENT WITH THEM" THEY WERE DIGGING THRU PEOPLES COOLERS & TACKLE EVERYONE WAS BEING TAKEN APART AND FOR WHAT? ALSO THEY WERE BEING VERY SHORT WITH AN ATTITUDE ON THAT DAY;' PERHAPS I WAS A BIT HARSH ON THEM IN RETROSPECT BUT TWICE IN 3 HOURS LICENCE CHECK AND THEN SEARCHED COME ON!!! IF TERRY THE --LEAD RANGER WAS THERE' HE IS A FRIEND IT PROBABLY WOULD NOT HAD TAKEN PLACE" IF I OFFENDED ANYONE'S LITTLE POND---SORRY!! (FOR REALS) YOU WILL SEE ME THERE AGAIN AFTER ALL IT IS CLOSE TO HOME STOCKED OR NOT IT IS A WET LINE WITH AN OCCASIONAL TIGHTLINE....I JUST DONT GET THE RANGERS WATCHING WITH BINOCULARS AND THE STRIP SEARCH WE GOT AT THE END OF A 3 HOUR TRIP" I GUESS THAT IS WHAT IT HAS COME TOO? WHY?
MAYBE IF YOU WEREN'T YELLING ALL THE TIME ;D things wouldn't seem quite so bad. Lighten up a little. :D
I NEVER YELL" MY CAPS LOCK BUTTON IS STUCK!! HA HA ;D
Maybe it's because the rangers were dealing with hundreds of people and probably lost a little paitience throughout the day. Sounds normal to me! Oh well I am new to this forum but have read it for a while and decided to register. It seems funny how one day I will read praises for wardens busting people without licenses or over fishing but once they check you, well then their just harrasing you. Come on guys maybe they check you twice some days or don't smile at you enough or coddle you just right but I for one am damn glad they are out there protecting our lakes and wildlife for us to enjoy ourselves on. That's my rant for the day and if it offended, oh well get over it!
:
I've had only good expirences with the rangers at Aurora but I didn't fish the tourney. I'm sure they had their hands full dragging everyone back to the boat ramp towards the end of the day.
STRUGGLINMAN IT IS PEOPLE LIKE YOU THAT COST PEOPLE RIGHTS" THOSE RANGERS ARE NOT GAME WARDENS DOING A GREAT CONSERVACY TO OUR SPORT" MOST KNOW SQUAT ABOUT BOATING OR FISHING OR HOW YOU ARE RIGGED. THEY ARE ORDERD WHAT TO THINK PERIOD! AND FORM THERE OWN OPINIONS BASED ON LACK OF EXPERIENCE.THEY ARE 10 DOLLAR AN HOUR CITY WORKERS PARKS AND RECREATION OKAY" THEY ARE NOT FISHERMAN BUT THEY ARE GOVERNING YOUR LAKE LIKE IT IS THERE OWN PRIVATE POND. OK :)
jrfish -- gotta get that caps lock fixed. It looks like you are shouting all the time -- not considered good manners on most forums.
I CAN SEE THAT 10-4--SORRY
They should just search everyone at the gate.  That way it would be over with and we wouldn’t have to worry about someone tapping us on the shoulder and treating us like criminals.

The police have to have probable caused to search your car.  How is it that just by fishing they have the right to search our private property?

I don't buy into the fact that just because were in a boat or on certain fishing property we should be subject to search and seizure.

Isnt this like a house to house search for drugs just because its fact that some people break the law and do drugs?

For me its not worth the hassle. Besides there's much better places to fish in my opinion.
Rangers can be a pain, especially when you get check more than 3 times within a few hours. However, if people would follow the rules, there would not be a need for the Rangers to keep checking licenses or measuring/counting fish on stringers. I wonder how many people they bust every weekend. Someone is always breaking the rules. It is always the few people who make it difficult for everyone else.

Now, when I see the Ranger walk towards me I don't wait for the small talk. I just hand him my license before he even asks. A few seconds later, I am back to fishing.
I would bet that that first time that you saw someone over their limit on fish
or using bait in an artificial only area, that you would be hunting down the
Ranger to take care of it. Ease up!
There is a good reason Quincy and Aurora have become such good fisheries, and that is good management and enforcement. The rangers have always been good to me, even when checking me. No complaints here...
