Every time I go I spend 5-10 bucks. Just bought some bait online from Grubcobait. 500 Spikes, 1000 reg. mealworms, 1000 giant mealworms, and 500 waxworms for $34.50. No shipping charge. I'll buy the small crawlers local.
Just thought I would share and I'll probably share the bait too.
With the guys I go with. Take Care

cool. Maybe 3-4 dollars per ice trip if it is trout, 2 dollars if it is perch or about 6-7 dollars if it is lakers that I am after.

thats a lot of meal worms

i bought like a three dollar thing of them and accidentally left them in my garage after an elevenmile trip last year, i found them just a couple months ago still alive and well, they had turned into beatles, but those things will survive forever

My wife pulled a box out of the frig and says"WHAT IS IN THIS BOX"  Yep my meal worms are still alive.   I'm ready.
Haha, is that all she said? I usually get a little more then that when my girl finds bait I forgot about in the fridge.

I don't spend much. Catch a big sucker now and then, or buy big ones, and they last quite awhile while Mack fishing (2-3 trips or more). A tub of mealworms lasts 2-4 trips. Waxworms don't last very long, and I don't use them often.

Much of the time, some of the impregnated plastic baits work well for trout, and stay on the hook forever, so you don't spend extra on live baits at all.

I foudn the cheapest place to buy mealworms is down at a petco or other petshop around 3 bucks for 100 they tend to be smaller but I have rarely found it to make a difference and in general seems the small ones work better anyways.
