Here's the puzzling thing about atmospheric pressure. A fish can experience a bigger pressure change just by going up or down a foot or two in the water, than it ever will by any conceivable fluctuation of the barometer.

I think maybe the thing the fish react to, is some other thing, that just happens to accompany air pressure changes. Maybe changes in the sky lighting, wind, or something else. But I think the air pressure is an indicator of the cause, and not the main cause.

But then, I think a lot of strange things... :)
