Took a little ride out to Barr Lake today as Cherry Creek was still frozen on the west end where I usually fish.  Ice is almost gone out of the shallows on the Southeast side.  The weed-beds are covered with water and the water is high and clear.  Boat ramp hasn't been slid into the water yet but there is a sign that says that it is open to boating.  Actually the sign reads, "BOAT AT YOUR OWN RISK", but it is open.  Plenty of water.  Gulls were working the water on the Dam side of the lake.  There was absolutely no one fishing but MacRick and I.  Cool........!  Just fished for a little while as it was cold and windy out there but prospects look pretty good for fishing.
