Fished Bellaire Lake today, 010506, just down the road from Dowdy. Two of us caught and released 80-100 fish (hard to keep count after awhile )-all Rainbows in the 8-12 in. range. Fished off the shore where the foot bridge is located-just at the end of the bridge about 20 yards out-approx. 15 FOW. Any small jig w/ a meal worm seemed to work. Sunny day, not very windy ( except for the occassional gust ). Just wanted to give a report. Thanks for listening.

Sounds like a nice day. Sunny, not very windy, and the fish biting well. That's hard to beat!

You do have to hike in. We parked at the locked gate. It is about a 1/2 or 3/4 mile walk in. There was enough snow to the side of the road that we were able to pull a sled with our gear. Good luck.

Did you have to hike in. went up there last monday and it was closed. how far back is she...
The gate is typically closed all winter, so you always have to hike in.  It's about 1/4 to 1/2 mile.  Not to tough a walk, but with the scant snow, it will wear your sled out, if you're draggin one.

If you keep going to Bellaire, unless they've all been caught, you can usually get into one of the brood fish.  They typically throw a few in with the fall stocking.  I caught a 20" fat girl there last year (girl fish, that is).
