I will probably head to Cherry Creek this weekend. I have only fished it by boat a couple of times. Any advice on the best places to try?

Perhaps the edges of the sunken island?

Ive had my best luck trolling the dam or pulling bottom bouncers w/ worm harnesses from the west boat ramp straight thru the middle of the lake towords the swim beach.
