Where I live in New mexico there are a few private Ranch areas that spill into public sections. My question is what do these big Rainbows feed on since not use to bugs and are pellet fed?

Any fly recomendations or theory's on targeting these beasts that escape the pen? Also if you've fished for them do they turn on at certain times of the year, times of the day etc...
