I hit the big Thompson today with my buddy. It was the first time I've ever fished it. The water was super low- we had to drive for a long time before we found fishable water. They were definitely biting, though. Lots of hits and a handful of fish landed. Most were pretty small but it was a mixed bag. One bow in particular was super small but I took a pic because I think the juvenile mrt markings are pretty cool. My buddy supposedly got into some good dry fly action last week but everything came on nymphs today. Specifically, I did well on a prince nymph sz18. I seemed to have a pretty even mix of browns and rainbows. Overall, it's a cool little fishery especially to just get away for a couple hours after school or something. It was really nice to get some action on the fly. Other than some fish I got on the fly about a month ago, I haven't really done any Fly fishing.
