Hitting up Blue Mesa for the first time in probably 20 + years over Memorial Day weekend.

I would sure appreciate any advice folks might offer to get into a few fish. Will be taking the boat.

Also, how bad is traffic going to be on 285 on the way home? Would I be better off heading over to I25, and coming back towards Denver that way?

Memorial Day weekend, traffic is gonna suck either way. Take your time and don't let it get to you.

Used to make a May trip there every year as a tradition. Not anymore though, as I refuse to help pump money into their monster-fish-killing economy.

Maaaaaaaan traffic is gonna suck this weekend!

It's a Kokanee lake, troll with Kokanee kings, dick nights, little arnies, Rainbow needlefish or popgear and worm. Don't forget the shoepeg corn, lead line or downriggers 15'-30'. kill and can or smoke Salmon. Multiple limits are standard procedures there.

Blue Mesa

Blue Mesa Kok fishing was great over the holiday. The big 4 years old were shallow about 10 feet trolling slings and hoochies.
