I did some open water fishing in Florida the week before and was itching to do some casting when I returned to Colorado. So on Saturday March 8th, we decided to hit a section of the South Platte River. The day before it dumped snow so it made the drive slow but the scenery was beautiful. Pretty slow day fishing overall, we saw some nice fish, got one 18" Rainbow to the net, and another that came unbuttoned.

Beautiful pictures with the snow and blue sky. Casting looks like fun though it may have been the day to match the hatch.

Yeah, a lot of fly guys were struggling that day too but we did watch one guy drift the same pool over and over again and pull out a few nice ones. I still have a lot to learn with the long rod on moving water!
