Hey guys I think I read someplace if you have a gas motor you are required by law to have a boat insurance policy in Colorado...I just won an auction on ebay over the weekend for a motor and need to get insurance...does anyone have anybody good?

Thanks in advance!

good to know about boulder thanks for the link

although i find it interesting that the sailboats dont need insurence. sail boats can do some serious damage especialy in the hands of a novice and are harder to controll than a small aluminum boat with motor even the best sailor cant manuver like a motor driven craft

I have it on my homeowners, (farmers) its liability only.  If I had a new big fancy boat I would go with a regular boat policy.  But with what I have I just stick with liability.  When I am towing it its covered under my auto insurance.

I don't think there is a requirement for boat insurance in Colorado.

We got our Boat Insurance through State Farm who insures our 4-Runner and Dodge Ram 1500. We have never been told that the insurance is manditory in Colorado, but with how cheap it is, for us it is worth it. In case "anything" happens to our boat on the water or off.......we are covered! Our Boat Insurance also covers our trailer.
