I have a 1980 16ft bass tracker that I have basically rebuilt. Great boat with a fairly new Nissan 40. I had a shop put an alum plate across the transom a few years back and it helped stiffen it up. The transom is getting weaker and I think this may be out of my expertise to replace. Any ideas of a good shop that may be up to the job?

McFish I don't know if you have one, but a transom saver sure helps to prevent all the weight of the motor bouncing against the transom. If you don't have one and get your transom fixed, it would be a good investment.

Thanks guys! I have had the boat shop work on my boat before. Maybe it would be a good winter project for them. I do use a transom saver, its just an old boat!
