Went out to Bonny Reservoire to go after the wiper and white bass. Fished from 10:30am to 4:00pm. We used crawdad tails and worms. Surprisingly, we didn't catch any wiper or white bass (maybe the water temp was too high). I did manage to catch a small drum on a worm, and my dad caught a channel catfish, and a HUGE carp (both on crawdad tails). The Fishing was kinda slow, but we still had a great time.  ;D

p.s. Do any of you guys have any ideas why the wiper and white bass weren't happening? We did use cooked crawdad tails instead of raw, do you think that might have had something to do with it?

Me with my first drum.

Great pics, looks like you Dad and you had a great time!

You might be right, raw shrimp works better. More natural scent and texture.

Dan is right...they would have more odor uncooked...I have caught wipers from a boat during the dark of night with night crawlers...they must have a good sense of smell...I dont think they could see them...

Cooked crawdads ? I think your better off with using them raw.

Well it looks like you were in the right wind direction. Maybe it was one of those days when they just shut off. Could be weather perhaps or not enough overcast. Better luck next time. Nice pics.

It's good to see your're a Bronco fan.

Yeah I had a feeling that cooked crawdad tails instead of raw ones might have been something do with it. We looked for raw crawdads but couldn't find them, do you guys know of a place who carries them (live crawdads is fine) or do you just catch them?

Yeah Jay my Dad said that carp fought REAL HARD! he thought he had a huge wiper at first then saw a huge flash of brown then thought it was a big cat then as he brought it to shore we saw that it was a carp. We were a little disapointed but you can't complain after a fish gives you that good of a fight!

Wow .. im suprised that the white bass and wipers werent hitting.. Maybe well the weather down there hasnt been the best. Over cast i guess isnt too good for bonny looks like. Usually the hotter 90s will bring in fish with the current in front of you blowing in your fish. Nice report and thanks. Good nice drum.. Thems are good eating to asian elders.. Crawdads.. yeah we catch them a few nights before going up in creeks and in small ponds.

Thats why I dont mind Carp. They fight really well. Hell look how many people fish for Walleye? Wallaye IMO fight the least out of all the fish people fish for. Bass,Trout,Cats,Wiper, carp.
