The forecast called or some gnarly weather this weekend and we thought we went prepared, but the howling wind and the bitter cold proved to be too much. It was bad enough that my friend decided that the only good place to cook lunch was in the public bathroom:
The genius cook did not want to be in the picture... so I won't name him.
Despite the frigid temperatures, ice was thin or non existent at the 2 lakes we visited. The wind kept them open.
Dinner was more appetizing:
One beer, one shot:
The next day, we found dubious ice but decided to get on anyway:
Pretty scenery:
But not a lot of action and the fish we caught froze almost instantly:
The third and fourth day felt like spring after the weekend's bitter cold. No need to cook in the toilet. Fresh fish sandwiches:
And fishing was a little better:
