Went to the platte today...Fished on the lower end past scraggyview there was a nice hatch of caddis today..Weird huh ?.. I've fished the platte for about 15 years now and have seen caddis hatches before but this one was kinda big ..Surprised the heck outta me....whats even more surprising was the fish were actually coming up for em!!! Made for a great day of fishin

I got there around 2:30 and had steady action the whole time i was there til around 6:30....It was about 50/50 bows and browns....Browns ranged in size of about 15" to 18" the bows were a little smaller the biggest one i caught was about 16....Yeah it was pretty odd they were comin up for the caddis i started with nymphs (one cast) a fish hit my strike indicator i swithced to a 16 elkhair.. No nymphs all day... Must have been there at the right time for once......Its the platte near Deckers ...
