I was given a 5000 yd spool of Red Cajun Line in 10 lb. casting variety.
Any experience with this line?

I tired some once and did not like it. Kind of stiff and it twisted up for me.

But you got it for free so what the heck!

A bud of mine used to use that crap. Bird-nest city!

Can't see any reason for throwing a red line, especially with our clear water.

I will have to try this line myself. It doesn't seem so bad by the feel of it.

I tried it and did the following test: With 2 otherwise identical rigs trolled side-by-side with clear line in a clear lake, the clear line outfished Cajun 5 to 1. The fish were about 15 feet down that day and could obviously see the red line.

That was all I needed to know. Back to Stren and Trilene Sensation for me.

In a murky lake it probably doesn't matter (a buddy of mine uses it for leaders and catches tons of walleyes).

I tried the Red Cajun line, trolling with it and casting jigs.
There is better and worse line to use.

think about this, the color red disappears at 15 feet. so the line is still there, it dosnt go away it just changes color to shades of grey and black

Try putting tag end of a few feet of flourocarbon on your Cajun. For less stretch use braid with a tag end of flourocarbon.
