Is their any place to buy leeches near Chatfield?  It seems that  all the spots that I know of are all heading east on 225.

Bass shop on Sheridan and about Mississippi has them.

we usually get our leeches from the marina at chat .. its by the southeast boat launch. they always seem to hav em in stock unlike some of the shops in aurora.

There is also a place on Sante Fe (south) that has them. I can't think of the name of it right now though. Sorry

You can try All Pro on Santa Fe, its a little hole in the wall hiding behind a honda atv dealer and a veterinary clinic, west side of the road across from ACC. He was going to close the shop last winter but changed his mind. The last time I stopped in there his stock of tackle was low and he was trying to restock. Small shop never has a lot of variety but usually has essentials. He has minnows except for late July till Sept usually. His tank is in a shed and its gets pretty warm in there and he has trouble keeping them alive late summer. The owner, Bobby Hix also runs a guide service. He can be hit or miss on his information. Catch him on good day and he will tell you everything you want to know. On a bad day very tight lipped. Usually has a mixture of sizes, after he gets to know you he will have you get your own minnows and tell him how many you have. If he is not there his nephew is usually there and if he is not there his brother runs a boat repair in the garage of the building and he will help you out.

The next closest option is Discount Fishing Tackle just north of Dartmouth on Santa Fe. Its next to the spa and log furniture shops on the west side of the road. You can only get to it from the south bound lanes. They are usually pretty friendly there and willing to discuss whats biting where. There minnows are usually pretty lively but last week they were looking pretty sad. (water looked pretty bad) This week the water was better. They have shiners and minnows. Lots of tackle, kinda cluttered and he usually does not know he is out of something until you tell him.

I forgot about that, its been there for years, someday I need to ask if it actually works.

I forgot to mention that if you just need crawlers the gas station just south of c-470 on Santa Fe I don't recall what brand it is, has a small fridge that usually has crawlers. The also sell a few hooks, weights and power bait. (Usually this stuff is sitting ontop of the fridge.

they have one of those bait machines at my g-mas house and its crazy, i just pick what i wanna fish for and i got leeches, worms, bigger worms, minnows, or stinkbait

i think they put the minnows in some sorta suspended animation liquid, cuz when u throw them on a hook they pop back to life

craziness
