I haven't been out much at all lately so I figured I'd go down to the local spot with some of the soft swimbaits I had recently purchased. I was only there for about 10 minutes when something tags my bait... to my surprise I had a carp on the other end! You can see in the picture that the bait was in his mouth and wasn't a snag. Has anybody else heard of these (what I thought) very strange swimbait carp???

Not a real surprise. I've caught Carp on everthing from Corn to a 2 1/2'' Floating Rapala. Glad you had better luck with your Swimbait than i did this week.

Yeppers I too have caught probably a dozen on various rapalas...none on a swimbait though...they eat everything...

Thanks everyone... definitely gave me a run for my money. Now that you mention it, I get very odd strikes at the same place on my trusty floating rapalas... feels like something is almost just rolling on it instead of striking. I apologize about the "chonies", didn't even notice until you said something... must have been the excitement at the time!

Great catch! Now I want to catch a carp on a swimbait too!
I'm surprised you haven't gotten one yet, FishDr! I know your love for swimbaits and figured you would have a carp/swimbait story with all the swimbait reports have posted. Unfortunately I'm just recently getting into swimbaits and this is my first fish on one... just not the species of fish I was hoping for.

Nice, probably put up a good fight and thats what matters. Friend of my caught a grass carp around 30lbs trolling a rooster tail of all things for trout at a membership lake in Arvada. Guess they can't turn down the shot at some injured protein.

Nice catch, Pull up your damn pants dude.

But there is an even more obvious reason why pants are sagging in prison. If the pants are below a man's bottom, it is to introduce to other men that he is homosexual. As Eazy E once said about women in skirts, "For easy access, baby."
If you're gay so be it. But if not you might want to think again.
