Hello,

I'm trying to find a new carp spot. Any Recommendations?

Here's what I have gathered so far:

Sawhill Ponds: Main pond has bunch of carp, hard to catch. Other ponds dried up over summer and are empty

Viele Lake: Bunch of carp, hard to catch

KOA: A few big carp, hard to catch

Wonderland:
Only saw grass carp

Are there any spots where there some dumber carp?

I used to live out east and there were ponds on Valmont or thereabouts in connection with a power plant. Are they still there?

Try 1/2 night crawler close to shore shallow no weight.

Also when the cotton wood trees shed the carp gorge on it.

Are you talking about the cotton itself?

Curious.... will the carp get any nutritional value from the cotton/seed?

Or is it just something to chew on???

Carp are definately hard to catch on a flyrod. They will take a dry fly during the "cottonwood hatch". Just wrap some white CDC on a hook and cast it in front in of a carp that is clooping (British term for feeding on the surface).

I've been coming to Colorado since the 50's to hunt elk. I've been hanging out here for awhile.

Long enough to know Boulder sucks! Is that where you live?

Yes, but you have to have a sense of humor to see it.

Remember Don Rickles? People didn't get him either. I thought he was funny.

Try sloans lake. I've caught them by the bridge closest to Sheridan floating a tampon with a hook attached. They go nuts over that setup. Let us know how you do.
