My son and I went to Carter Lake from 5PM-7:30PM today. Caught two healthy rainbows (larger of the two was 14.5") on a blue/silver kastmaster fished on the west side in about 15 FOW:

Water temp was 56 degrees and there weren't too many boats on the water. It was nice to get out and it was a beautiful evening...

What a great way to spent a few hours with the kids.

This time of year can be great for walleyes at that time of day at carter. Alot of folks are just casting rat-l-traps at the dam and cranking them back. If it wasn't for the limited size you can keep alot more people would fish it. Great catch n release lake.
