Went to carter lake today 5/20 with the family, caught a few rain shower here and there, but fishing did not stop me, at first the boy's where kinda getting antsy why I am fishing but no fish, until the first catch, was trying to see if i could catch some walleye, but zipped on the walleye lures, so decided to change gear and try a Panther Martin, well here is the result, landed 5 and lost 1, my wife zip, but she was trying out here new fishing pole and real.. so maybe tomorrow, since we purchased a one night boat slip.and left the boat there, water was in the 60's ,

Nice fish! Panther Martins and Needlefish seem to work pretty well there.
I caught my biggest bass ever there with a Panther over by the cove/inlet
by the marina (west side).

back at Carter today, caught 1 bass but was not a keeper, caught at the deep end cove, left side of the marina, and also caught 2 stocker trouts caught by a Panther. water temp was about 62". then about 1pm thinking it was not a skunkless day, I broke out the grill for my Pontoon, and grilled some BBQ ribbs. so you can say it was another good day at the lake..

I was at Carter yesterday as well. We caught five trout, and my son broke in his brand new pole with this one:

It was also a beautiful sunset, don't you think?

Terre,

I kept looking and looking for it, but it never came so I decided to fish instead ;D Carter would be a vicious lake to have a tornado on as the mountains really block the view from the west.

So I will keep trying and thanks for the encouragement! ;)

i caught a couple nice trout friday afternoon. as for the tornados, always keep an eye out at carter i have been out there in crazy bad weather twice last year. both times it was nice when we put out. the worst was last 4th of july weekend there were mini tornados creating water spouts on the lake. all of the storms left as quickly as they came but if you are in the middle of that lake with a boat that cant handle waves always keep an eye to the sky. still one of my favorite places to fish especially now when there are few speed boats on the water.

Fish the Dams around 8:00 pm with Clown colored rouges and you will kill the walleye.
