One has to love when thay take a exploritory fishing trip and is pays off. I now have a new secret spot that produces catfish consistantly like this on I landed 6/8. Circle hooks are the secret weapon. 41 inches, 42lbs 6 oz Flathead Catfish.

If you caught that in Colorado its a state record.

There is only a couple lakes stocked with flathead in Colorado, and highly doubt they are that big yet.

Colorado state record due to their newness is 2.9 pounds and 19 inches from Pueblo...one of the fishes chins in that picture weighs more than that!...great fish!!

yea dont remind me what the record is that low
i caught one back last year that was about 10# and 2' long
i was just happy to catch one didnt ever come to me that
the record was that low

the wife didnt like how he looked compared to the channel cats we were catching that day
so i just looked at it a while and then put it back in the river

man thats a big cat :eek: that would even be a big cat for the snake river in Idaho good job
