Ok, so I've never caught a catfish and I figure that it's about time. I want to go fishing not far from home (<5 miles) from about 8 to 11 pm. I live near Broomfield. So where is a good spot nearby? I was thinking of McKay Lake at about 144th and Zuni, but it is artificial flys and lures only. Any other small ponds that might work?

Since I've never caught catfish, what species and size is good for eating? What should I catch and release?

Does anyone know how to tie a chicken liver fly pattern?

Pitbull, I forgot about Sterns Lake. Last year it seems like every time I fished there I got eaten alive by mosquitos. Often times they were so thick that it would sound like one of those B-Movie sound effects. Since then I've been repressing my memories of that place...
