A group of us went to chatfield on sunday, got set up in about 25' of water out from catfish flats. My son had a fish nail his jig and mealworm right away but got off after a few cranks. Then started getting bites on his jig and minnow and missed that one too. A few more bites through out the day with only one fish caught in the group. There were 3 people out sailboarding(I guess that's what it's called?) today,we were watching them for a while and then we heard a loud noise. We saw one of them laying on the ice and the other two rushing over. After awhile fire trucks and paramedics arrived. They were trying to get to where she had fallen, which was on the east side of the lake. We were the closest to her and soon were approached and asked if we could loan the firemen some ice cleats. We gave them 2 pair and watched as they took her off the ice to a waiting helicopter. A few hours later a fireman showed back up to return the cleats. He thanked us and said the woman had hit her head pretty hard and had back and neck injuries. Just glad we could help out a little.

"Usually, it's not a problem. This was a hole it was about a foot across. Most ice fishing holes are smaller. You can go right across them and it's not a problem," said Chuck Mawhinney, a frequent Chatfield ice sailor. "

alright who was using the 12" auger?
