Fished Chatfield from 8 am to 4pm on Monday from my boat...I have had better days...1 16.5 inch walleye...caught on the roadbed in front of the handicapped pier...wind switching direction all day long...only bite I had...caught on a dead drifted minnow on split shot in 18 feet of water...my partner had two bites in the marina channel on the way off the lake...we talked to one other person who had caught a 17 inch walleye...saw two trout caught from boats...figured we would at least find them and didnt...saw two trout caught from shore west of the handicapped fishing pier...saw numerous fish on fishfinder...couldnt get them to bite...tried bait, jigs, jigs bait, cranks, slip bobbers...you name it...just couldnt entice them...surface water temp started at 39.7 and was 40.5 when we got off...not the best day but beat being at work...one other item...it appears the reservoir is up 6 or 7 feet since I fished it in December from my boat...the roadbed infront of the handicapped pier in December went from 16 feet of water up to about 10/12 feet on top of the roadbed in that area...now it appears to go from 23 feet to 17 for the top of the roadbed in the same area...I noticed there isnt nearly as much sand showing on the shore...

Thanks for the report Z!!! I think once the weather stabilizes the bite should pick up(I hope). You were fishing around the same area as we were. When we were there, there were alot of boats straight out from the marina in about 4/10 feet of water. We tried the area and didnt get anything. Did you see a bunch Of people in this area too?

Thanks for the report.

I fished Chatfield also on Monday. What kind of boat were you in zman?

I caught one walleye, about 16 inches also in the marina in about 14 feet of water. It bit on a floating jig head just running off the bottom.

Like Zman said slow but better than a day at work.

ZMAN,

I had about the same experience Sunday morning when I was out for a couple of hours. Saw fish everywhere. Tried everything to entice them but couldn't get them to pick off my crawlers (got home too late from Saturday's ice fishing trip to purchase minnows).

I'm off Wed, Thur & Friday, so I may try Chatflied during the week with minnows for another go around. If anyone's off and wants to join me drop me a line.

Jay, must have missed you at the ramp on Sunday morning. I did see your trailer parked next to my truck on my way out; recognized it from your photo on the forum.
