Excellent work Slayer. You no doubt are a master walleye hunter. I like to hit Chatfield because it is only minutes away, but man o man, it is a parking lot!

Most of my life i have lived by chatfield and know how crazy it gets out there and the only time I will go to chatfield is night or during the week when its like that.. But even last saturday there where jet skiers out ( made me cold just watching them)

I fish Chatfield frequently, it is the most convenient lake to me. Before memorial day and after labor day I fish Chatfield any day of the week. In the summer monthes I avoid Chatfield on weekends unless the weather is bad or I am out at night. Too many boats on the lake and I don't want to waste my time waiting in line.

On weekends, I will haul the boat and family to different waters. Such as Union, Jackson, 11 mile etc. I would rather spend the time I would spend waiting in line, driving.

Cherry Creek is just as bad as Chatfield.

I saw the guys water skiing and jet skiing on Sunday too. They must be crazy to get into water that cold. Have they never heard of hypothermia? I may go on the water when its cold, but I don't intentionally get into it.

In fact due to the crowded nature of chatfield lately, and its only going to get worse,I'm thinking of heading to Nee Gronde on sat.3-5.Should be no one but the fishes there!

The thing about chatfield is it is a pretty darn good fisherie considering how much it gets pounded. Also the small mouths are alot of fun there, expecially having two little boys with me who need constant action. just have to hit it at nights and during the week.

Slayer, Last time I was at Nee Gronde (Feb. 19) there were about 15,000 snow geese there and about 20 hunters. You may want to check if fishing is allowed at Nee Gronde now. ??? Snow goose season is open till end of March and I think access to the lake is closed. A long drive for nothing unless you bring a goose gun.
