Even though I thought the weather might be iffy, got out to Chatfield today about 11:30 and fished until 7. Looked for the walleye, got zip. Tried various Rapalas and Berkley Bladerunners (new lure, not positive about the name) along Massey Draw. Water temp was about 65. Went over to the submerged bridge and scoped some fish right on the edges, but the water was getting too rough from the boat chop, gave up trying to work minnows and leeches. Found nothing at Catfish Flats, picked up a couple smallmouth fishing the eastern edge of the heron rookery, biggest was about 1 1/2 pounds. Got one on a minnow under a bobber, the second on a leech on a Lindy rig. Tried the dam just east of the tower before we packed it in, got one more smallie on a leech under a bobber. Anyone finding the walleye?
