Checked Chatfield this am. It appears to be completely iced over, hard to tell because of fog on the ice. I did check the thickness at the north boat ramp. Kicked through 2-3 inches of mostly frozen slush with maybe 1 inch of clear ice underneath. Very unsafe at this time. Give it some more time before venturing out. Hopefully this kills off a bunch of the shad and gets the walleye looking for "fresh meat"

Guess the good Chatfield walleye spoon bite didn't last long this year. From start to ice lid was, what, about 10 days??
