I snuck away to the dog ponds after school today, because I was craving some fishing. I got there around 5:00 and set up for catfishing and tossed out a crappie jig. After losing two crappie jigs to the same log, I switched to a perch colored Rapala CD. I discovered another species of fish in the ponds. I got a little yellow perch.

So far the fish I've caught or seen caught are:

LM Bass
SM Bass
Walleye
Channel Catfish
Crappie
Bluegill
Yellow Perch

I have also seen carp, but I haven't caught any.

Who knows, I might pull a shark out of those ponds some day. ???

Perch are very aggressive, this is why there is so much consern about them at Blue Mesa. Maybe they will stock small mouths there to help control the population of them... From what I saw of Blue Mesa (only been there once) it would be a great small mouth fishery.
