i think the trout are done spawning? Is that what you were goin for? Im going out today & going to try deep trolling the damface for 'eyes.(100ft out to avoid the nets). Maybe ill steer clear of the inlet- eh who knows though... chatfield is a crapshoot most of the time for me.

Hey fish or die,
Ya' there was alot of hype (well not all hype, as it can be really good) about the inlet at Chatfield. The thing is, it was pretty decent up until the flow to the reservoir was reduced. The lake is pretty high, that's why the water is high after the bridge but upstream from the bridge, the flow is down right now. The bows that had moved into the river to spawn are not there in the numbers and size that they were a few weeks ago. So, most people missed out. When the water flow increases, the fishing can be pretty decent there, just not right now. I also was out today and didn't land any hogs. I only fished for an hour after seeing the conditions and caught one brown and one bow, 12 and 14", respectively. Out in front of the inlet can always be good (especially from a boat). From shore, try the Heron Rookery Overlook. Good luck!

Fished it yesterday from the boat. Water temp was 44-45, a nice day but no fish. I did have one hit on a grub in the river channel. Talked to a guy in a ranger who had a nice day also and did abbout as well as I did. Tried up buy the swim beach (towards the dam) also. The only fish I saw on the fish finder were in the deeper water.
