Went to Chatfield sunday afternoon. Fished along the rocks between massey draw and the north boat ramp. Threw everything I had at the walleyes but didn't catch anything. My nephew did catch a 16" rainbow that was fat from eggs. Then went over the river a little ways up from the inlet. Lots of people catching nice rainbows (3 - 6 lbs) on midges and egg patterns in just the hour we were there. Fly rod didn't get put in the truck so no fish for us.

The rainbow was caught on a nightcrawler about 4 feet below the surface in 8 feet of water.

According to the Chatfield State Park web site, The Dow has allready begun spawning operations at Chatfield. Apparently operations started on Monday March 7th.
Better keep an eye out for nets along the dam and be sure to give the 100 feet of clearance during restircted hours.
