Went to the land of and. At the last second threw the yak on the trailer. Good choice because water was low and gin clear. Shore fishing sucked badly. Got everything on a brown tube in 20 ft of water between noon and 2 pm. ended up with 3 bows and 3 eyes in about 8 hours of fishing over 2 days.

I want a kayak. Seems like it'd be easier to strap on top of my forester. The toon is a PITA. That's awesome.
Whomp, if you really want to make it easy on yourself, just get a good float tube and some Force Fins. Good in the wind, you can cover quite a bit of ground, light and easy to transport. I can't speak for anyone else, but I think my toon has helped me learn much more about lakes than when I had my boat. You had to choose a part of the lake and work every nook and cranny to see if it held fish. Couldn't just hop from spot to spot. Over time, you learn a lot about a lake. Remembering, that just because fish aren't there today...doesn't mean they won't be there at a different time of the year.

Don't get me wrong. Now that I have a lot of spots figured out, it's nice to jump in a friends boat and hop from spot to spot to spot.
That's great advice but I think I want a yak or something just for the ability to get around better. If it's super windy, I can use my tube or toon. If it's nice out, I can use a yak and be able to cover much more water. I wanna be able to go up and down horsetooth without being exhausted. I also just wanna be able to throw soemthing on my roof and go. As of right now, my toon won't fit in my car so I need to disassemble it, deflate it, put it in the car, reassemble, etc. It really isn't convenient to say the least. With that said, once I'm out on the water, it's vastly superior to my float tube for obvious reasons. I guess they all have their ups and downs.
