Went into Cheeseman Canyon yesterday - first time there, have spent most of my time this winter in the Deckers-Trumbull area. The air temperature was in the upper 60s and the wind was not bad at all. We had moderate luck, and the canyon (I was told) was not crowded. We essentially had our choice of the canyon, and could pick our holes. It was site fishing for the most part - spot them from the elevated trail, then approach them from downsteam. Caught 4, one was 18 inches and then a 14 incher and two 12 inchers. Didn't have that many that I lost. Caught all on a #22 black midge with silver ribbing dropped from a tan scud. It was fun and I hope to go back real soon.
