my dad fished the colorado river yesterday for about 4 hours. He caught 14 trout. The biggest were a 6.5# bow, a 5# bow, and a 4# brown. He was using the ole garden fly pattern on a #6 eagle claw hook with a couple of splitshot above it and drifting it in the seems just above tailouts.

He fished both above and below glenwood. Below glenwood he only caught like 4, a 5# rainbow, a 4# brown and 2 browns about 2-3#. Above it he caught 10 including a 6.5# bow, with the rest of the fish being solid 3# bows. I am very impressed, the canyon must be starting to get some big fish again after the drought. During the drought and up until late fall last year we hadn't caught much above 2#. I caught a 8# brown and a 5# brown in the same day in late fall in the canyon, so maybe it is rebounding! Let's hope so!
I don't know about ice on the edges (I wasn't there), I'm assuming none.

Like I said- I didn't fish it. My dad did. I don't know if he took pictures or not, but if he did, we'd still have to finish out the roll of film and develop them.
