There was a couple good articles in the Sunday Gazette "Kokanee Mystery Solved" Talking about 11 mile Kokanee's and where they are found on the lake, 98% of the Kokanee population is found in the channel by the dam what has the bouys around it so you cant fish there. But I think you can get there on the ice? If not get as close as you can above the channel and watch your radar, these guys were slaying them.
Also an article about the Rio Grande sucker and chuds being found in a isolated stream in the San Luis Valley... this is good news because the goal is to get 3 established populations to move the sucker off the endangered species list and with this population found that makes 2 established populations. If you can find a copy its a good read.
